CELTIC, Lower Danube. Imitations of Thasos. Late 2nd-1st century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 36 mm, 15.95 g, 12 h). Celticized head of Dionysos to right, wearing ivy-wreath. Rev. HΡAKΛEOΥΣ - ΣΩTHΡOΣ / ΘAΣIΩN Herakles standing front, head to left, holding club with his right hand and lion skin draped over his left arm; in inner left field, M. Dembski 1505. Lanz 962. OTA Class II. Scattered toning and with some stress marks, otherwise, very fine.
